**Objective:**
Students will be introduced to basic social institutions, such as family, school, and community, and will learn the importance of their roles in daily life.
#### Materials Needed:
- Pictures or illustrations of families, schools, and community helpers (like doctors, police officers, firefighters)
- Flashcards with simple words (Family, School, Community)
- Storybook related to families or communities
- Crayons and coloring sheets with related images
- Simple props or costumes (optional)
- A whiteboard with markers
- Stickers for rewards
#### Introduction (5 minutes)
1. **Greeting and Settling Down:**
- Greet the students warmly.
- Encourage them to sit in a circle.
2. **Introduction:**
- “Today we are going to learn about places and people that are very important to us. They are called Social Institutions!”
#### Main Lesson (15 minutes)
1. **Introduction to Family:**
- Show pictures of different types of families (nuclear, extended, single-parent).
- Discuss briefly what a family is: "A family is a group of people who love and take care of each other."
- Ask children to share who is in their family.
2. **Introduction to School:**
- Show pictures of a school and teachers.
- Explain what a school is: "A school is a place where we learn new things, make friends, and have fun."
- Discuss the role of teachers: "Teachers help us to learn."
3. **Introduction to Community:**
- Show pictures of community helpers like doctors, police officers, and firefighters.
- Explain briefly: "Community is where we live and there are people who help us like doctors, who make us feel better when we are sick, and police officers, who keep us safe."
4. **Reading a Story:**
- Pick a storybook related to families or communities and read it aloud. Make sure to show the pictures and engage the children by asking them simple questions about the story.
#### Activity (5 minutes)
1. **Coloring Activity:**
- Distribute coloring sheets with images related to family, school, and community.
- Provide crayons and encourage students to color the pictures.
- Walk around and assist students, asking questions about their coloring to reinforce the lesson.
#### Conclusion (5 minutes)
1. **Recap and Discussion:**
- Recap the lesson by showing the pictures again and asking, "What did we learn about the family?", "What is a school?", "Who are community helpers?"
- Encourage students to share what they remember about social institutions.
2. **Goodbye Circle:**
- Gather students in a circle. Sing a goodbye song, praising their participation.
- Hand out stickers as rewards to acknowledge their effort.
